WHAT
IS EVER-SHAKE MADE OF?
Our product is made of polyurethane and a mineral sand filler.
Fire retardant is also added in order to achieve a Class "A"
fire rating. Refined oil is also added to help reduce viscosity
in the blending of all the ingredients.
WHY
IS EVER-SHAKE'S WARRANTY ONE OF THE BEST IN THE ROOFING INDUSTRY?
Most material failures occur in the first years of the product's
life. Ever-Shake offers for the first five (5) years from
the date of application, full replacement of any material
that is allowing water to penetrate, not due to application,
or exclusions of warranty. This also includes coverage for
all labor and materials, including accessory materials in
the areas of concern.
WILL MOSS AND FUNGUS GROW ON EVER-SHAKE?
Yes, organic natural materials can grow on Ever-Shake. However,
because Ever-Shake is impervious to water penetration, the
organic matter will not affect the integrity of the product
whatsoever. Moss and fungus should not be allowed to build
up on the surface of the roof, due to the potential harm to
the underlying membranes within the shake system. Due to the
toughness of Ever-Shake, both moss and fungus can be aggressively
cleaned off the surface with a high-pressure water washer.
Care should be used so not to damage the underlying felts.
HOW LONG HAS EVER-SHAKE BEEN ON
THE MARKET?
Ever-Shake went into full production during June of 1997.
Ever-Shake has been in research and development since the
mid-1980's. Our first roof was installed in 1994.
HOW MANY SIZES OF EVER-SHAKE ARE
THERE?
Ever-Shake is manufactured in three different widths, 5 ½",
9 ½", and 13 ¼". All of the shakes
are approximately 22" long. Each width has three different
mold patterns to ensure the most authentic looking roof possible.
DOES THE SMELL GO AWAY?
The answer is yes. The raw materials used in the manufacture
of Ever-Shake are very similar to those used in new cars for
the dashboards, upholstery etc. Asphalt shingles have a residual
smell as well, and ours should dissipate in 30-45 days.
