“I am very pleased that I decided to go with North Star. I had gotten 5 bids for my roof, and the North Star bid came in the lowest. That was not though, the final determinant in my decision. As other reviewers here have said, Russ is wonderful to work with. I had many questions about the process and he met with me until all of my questions were answered. I never at one point felt that I was being nickeled and dimed or trying to be sold something that I didn’t really need. I believed Russ to be sincere in what he was telling me.
I have no complaints at all about the roof. The work was done quickly, completed when it was supposed to be done, and looks great. The workers stayed late on a Friday to make sure that everything was completed, cleaned up, and we were satisfied. Time will of course tell more about the quality, but I have a 5 year warranty, so I trust that if there is any potential problem, it will be handled.
Bottom line is better customer service, quality work, and a much lower price than anyone else around. You really can’t go wrong!!!”

“North Star replaced our roof in the Mt. Baker neighborhood recently. Russ was extremely helpful and patient in helping us select a new roofing material. He also offered honest advice about which product would be the best value.
His crew was very polite and conscientious. In addition to doing a great install they fixed other issues they found such as plugged or needing adjustment gutters. It was great to have him looking out for our other roof issues.
They did a great cleanup and even let us keep their dumpster for an extended time for our other project.

“Russ is GREAT to work with and his windows and roofing guys were fast and efficiant. I had windows replaced and vents put in the roof.
He even told me what MIGHT happen (sills needing replacement) and what that would cost. Well they did such a good job that we were able to keep our sills. But I liked that he was not hiding any possibilities of cost.
Russ even upgraded our rain glass for us in the bathroom because the manufacturer sent the wrong design.

“I had my roof replaced by Northstar and also some minor construction work done on my deck and inside banister.
Russ’ bid was very detailed and he personally walked me through everything, explained what it meant and what options I had available. His price was the best of all bids that came in.
On top of oustanding workmanship and daily email updates on progress and what to expect next, Russ also took care of a minor cosmetic issue requiring some carpentry work (not at all related to the roof). He did this as a courtesy, making not only the overall experience, but also my deal that much sweeter! I should mention that the price I paid was not a cent above what he has quoted me, despite not being able to tell if additional work may surface under the old shingles.
My banister was more complex to build than I had anticipated. In order to finish the job sooner, Russ sent an additional employee to help, but only charged me for one, truly meeting me in the middle. Also, his staff is super friendly, professional, and the site was always left perfectly cleaned up every day. No doubt I’ll keep calling him for everything I need built or fixed around my house!
If his company doesn’t do a job, he knows someone who does it instead and I have found that Russ’ recommendations are as good as his own quality of work (e.g. Josh from Acme Drywall ).
If you are looking for a professional construction company who you can trust to do excellent work at a very reasonable price, you’ve got to call Russ!”

“Northstar Construction was the 8th estimate or so I had gotten for my roof replacement, and they hit it out of the park! Not only does the owner Russ Oja personally come out and do the estimate, he brings in a mock roof, and walks you through every material and step of the process. I liked the quality of products they were offering compared to every one else I had talked to, and the bid came in lowest, too – even before the Prime Card discount and cash discount as well. When the week came to roof, timing was amazing. The roofing material was dropped off over the weekend, then work began and was finished a few days later. The roofers were polite, cleaned up the site well and the roof looks beautiful. Russ was available by email and fast if I needed him. Go with them if you want personal, fast, friendly, professional, all around amazing roofers! (and they do a whole lot more)”
